General characteristics, structure and effects of the Law on Employment in the Russian Federation
Annotation
According to Article 37 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, everyone shall have the right to labour conditions meeting the safety and hygiene requirements, to labour remuneration without any discrimination whatsoever and to wages and salaries not lower than the minimum established by federal law, as well as the right to protection against unemployment. In April, 1991 the Supreme Soviet of the Russian SFSR passed the Law “On employment in the Russian Federation”. There were Federal Employment Service and State Employment Fund established in Russia. The Law was amended in July, 1992 and came into full force and effect on July 15, 1992.
